  • Purchase insurance applies to goods purchased with credit card at stores and online.
  • It compensates expenses on repair or replacement of durable goods* in case of theft, damage or destruction even if it was done unintentionally by the card holder himself.
  • It applies to most purchases incl. clothing, sports equipment, tech gadgets etc. for 180 days from the day you received the goods.
  • To claim you need to have purchase document or payment information.

*Durable goods are items with a lifespan of at least 3 years. The lifespan of a product is determined by the manufacturer.

Sums insured are determined for each insured item, insured event and calendar year.

  • One item € 1,000.
  • One insured event € 2,000.
  • One year € 4,000.
  • Items with limited compensation* €400.
  • Excess per insured event is €30.

  • Mastercard helpline in abroad +1 636 722 7111 (chargeable number) or In-Country Telephone Numbers (free of charge).
  • We want to make online shopping safer for you. That’s why the internet shopping option must be activated in case of each card that has been issued by Swedbank and are used to make purchases online. Read more about internet shopping.
  • Before you make a purchase online, make sure the store is safe. Try to find out more information about merchant. Every website should have information about the name and location of the company and an e-mail address and telephone number to use, should you have any problems. There should also be information about deliveries and returns, the procedure for submitting complaints as well as warranty terms and conditions. Don’t fall for discounts that seem to be too unrealistic.
  • Use a welcome text in the Internet shopping programme that is as personalised as possible. Every time you make a purchase online, ensure that the welcome text is the same as the one you set when you signed up to the programme.
  • If you only rarely make purchases online using your bank card, we advise you to activate the Internet shopping option only for the moment of making the purchase.
  • If your card was replaced or renewed automatically, the linkage to the selected e-wallets and various service providers will be retained when you activate your new card.
  • You can protect your money by choosing usage limits that suit you. You can set separate limits for purchases, cash and payment and cash transactions.
  • You can change Usage Limits in Internet bank under My Cards or in the Swedbank app.
  • You can also increase your limits temporarily if necessary.
  • Make sure you always know where your bank card is. If you pay by card, do not let the person serving you take it to a back room on their own, because your card data can be stolen.
  • If you lose your card, immediately block it in the mobile app or Internet bank. You can unblock or replace the card within 10 days.
  • It is not recommended, to send your card number by post or give it on the telephone when making a purchase, because your card data could be used for fraudulent transactions, but if there are no other possibilities, please, be extra careful.
  • Be careful when using the ATMs of other banks. Some ATMs return your card before dispensing the money. Make sure you have your bank card and the requested amount of cash before you leave the ATM.
  • Only the person whose name appears on the card, may use the card. Do not let anyone, even a close person, to use your card.
  • Always check the transaction amount that you are approving with the card.
  • Follow up your card transactions regularly in your internet bank or in the Swedbank app. If any transaction seems suspicious, please contact the bank.
  • When you get your bank card, you will also receive a PIN that is known only to you.
  • Memorize it, do not write your PIN on the card or anywhere else where it can be seen by others.
  • New! You can now check your card’s PIN code in the Swedbank app. It’s secure, easy, and will help you remember it if you forget your PIN code.
  • Do not tell your PIN to anyone, not even to bank employees.
  • Try to enter your PIN so that no one else can see it, because your card could be stolen and used by somebody else. If the payment with a stolen card is confirmed with the PIN, it is the customer’s liability.
  • If you suspect that your PIN has become known to someone else or if the bank has notified you of the need to change your PIN, you must change it immediately. You can do so at any Swedbank ATM.
  • When selecting your PIN, do not re-use your old PIN. Do not use identical codes for different cards for the purpose of memorising them.

Using cash not only brings environmental issues but also may support the shadow economy. By moving from cash to digital payments, we can protect our planet, remove the anonymity of transactions, and even more - save time spent managing money.

  1. Pay digitally. It helps you track your expenses, set the limits for certain expense categories, and identify where you can manage your consumption habits.
  2. Be aware of non-recyclable receipts. Paper receipts are made from non-recyclable thermal paper. When paying by card, ask for a paperless receipt which you can receive online by e-mail.
  3. Contactless payments are clean and hygienic. By using contactless payments, you can reduce the physical contact between different people who are exchanging banknotes or touching the ATM.

  • I’ve lost my credit card. What should I do?

    In order to block/close the card you have as following options:

    • Block the card in the Swedbank mobile app, under “Cards” by switching the setting from “Active” to “Blocked” or on the Internet Bank, go to the page „My cards“ and then choose „Block card.“ In this case, you can block the card for up to 10 days. After that, it will be closed automatically.
    • You can replace the card in the app or the Internet bank by selecting "Cards" and "My cards" from the menu and then clicking “Replace card” under your card.
    • You can block and replace the card by calling us at +372 6 310 310.

    Ordering a new credit card or replacing it costs 7 euros.

  • Where can I receive the renewed credit card?

    The renewed card can be delivered:

    • by post to your Estonian contact address. You can choose this on the „My Cards“ by choosing „Change card delivery method“ under your card;
    • to any Swedbank branch.

  • Are credit cards renewed automatically?

    Credit cards are usually renewed automatically. If the credit card is not renewed, we inform the customer of it before expiry of the credit card via bank message, e-mail or by post.

  • Can I get the renewed card sooner if I know that I will not be able to collect it at the time of renewal?

    If you would like to receive a new credit card earlier, please apply for a new credit card.

    We will give the answer to application within three workdays and if the application answer will be positive, then the card will be ready to be collected from the branch in 10 days or if your ordered by post, it will be delivered in 5 business days.

  • I have a credit card but I’d like to replace it with another type of credit card. What should I do?

    Please contact us and we will find the most suitable solution for you.

  • I would like to close my credit card. What should I do?

    If you wish to close your credit card (i.e., cancel the card and credit), please send us a bank message.

  • How can I change the credit limit on my credit card?

    You can make the changes via the Internet Bank by filling out a new credit card application and writing on the additional information field that you wish to increase your current credit card limit and mark the suitable amount. You will receive an answer within two work days.

  • Does a fee apply for ATM cash withdrawals?

    Yes. Withdrawal of cash with a credit card is subject to a fee according to the current price list, except for Platinum and Gold credit cards. With Platinum credit card, there is no commission fee for cash withdrawal up to 1000 EUR all over the world and with Gold credit card that amount is 500 EUR. When withdrawing cash from another bank's ATM, a service fee may be added, which is determined by the ATM operator.

  • Is any fee charged for paying for a purchase with a credit card?

    For transactions made in foreign currency, a conversion fee of 1% of the transaction amount is applicable (with Platinum credit card (Mastercard), there is no currency exchange surcharge). Card payments are free of charge in countries which have euros as their official currency. If you are paying in a country with a different official currency then you are subject to paying the currency conversion fee, which is a certain percentage of the transaction amount. You can find up to date information on our price list.

  • Is any fee charged for transfers from the credit card account?

    Fees for transfers from the credit card account are identical to those for transfers from the current account.

    Transfers between one’s own accounts or other accounts within Swedbank are free of charge.

    PS! Please note that if you make a transfer or withdraw cash from the credit card account, the calculation of interest begins immediately, unless the amount of the aforementioned transactions remains within the positive balance of the limit account.

  • Where can I pay back used credit limit?

    You can pay back the used credit limit via the Internet Bank page under Cards > „My cards” by selecting "Return full used credit limit"

  • Where can I pay back interest accruing credit limit?

    You can pay back the used credit limit via the Internet Bank page under “Cards” > “My cards” by selecting "Return interest accruing credit limit"

  • Do I have a valid travel insurance with my credit card?

    The insurance cover attached to the Gold revolving card or Platinum credit card takes effect automatically once you enter into the credit card agreement and remains valid until the credit card agreement is valid.

Take care of your safety with Travel insurance which now includes Covid-19 insurance cover

For trips taking place starting from 6 May 2021 we're offering a Travel Insurance Covid-19 cover without an additional fee. The Covid-19 insurance cover is automatically valid while aboard if any of the preconditions apply:

  • Negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours prior to the start of the trip. In this case the supplementary insurance is valid for 30 days.
  • Confirmation that you have been infected with Covid-19 within the last 6 months and you are recovered.
  • Full vaccination certificate.

Preconditions apply to children starting from age of 12.

Preconditions are not needed if trip is cancelled due to Covid-19 sickness or self-isolation before the trip.

For example, we will compensate Covid-19 related medical expenses abroad, travel disruption costs if you are not allowed to enter to public transport due to Covid-19 symptoms and travel cancellation costs if you have received a positive coronavirus test or you are a close contact person.

Travel disruption caused by authorities (e.g. closed borders, lockdowns) is not covered even in case of pandemic/epidemic.
